A Mint Scarf...

Last weekend, my friend Else and I took a girl's trip to Estes Park in Northern Colorado. It was so beautiful and it was a winter wonderland up there. On Saturday, we spent the day exploring the [haunted] Stanley Hotel and the shops in town. Even though it was freezing, it was a blast. Here's what I wore...

Can you tell I'm longing for spring? I can't stop wearing pastels.

Floral + Plaid

Today I am so excited to share with you some fun pattern mixing and one of the cutest headbands ever. 

This is also a great look for transitioning from summer to fall. 

Modern 85 has the cutest headbands and head wraps. They come in so many fun patterns, they are great quality, and so comfy! 

They are perfect for those days when you don't want to do your hair or when you're having a bad hair day. 

Some days two-day old curls, dry shampoo, and a good head wrap can be my best friends!

I am so in love with this head wrap and I can't wait to wear it again. I thought the colors of the head wrap looked just perfect with the mint skinnies and the blue plaid shirt. It was a great look for the warm days we are having in August. 

However, as we all know- I am so ready for Fall!

This headband will be a great accessory for the fall and winter when I want to add a little bit of color to my outfits.

Mixing Summer + Fall

It's that time of year. 

Summer isn't over yet, but fall hasn't arrived quite yet. 

It's awkward. 

Here in southern Colorado, I am so sick of the heat and I have been for about a month now. When I go outside it is so dry and hot that I feel like I am just going to melt away. 

With that, I am inviting fall to come back with open arms, but she isn't quite ready yet. 

My fall wardrobe is calling my name. I would love nothing more than to break out sweaters, boots, scarves, etc... but that would be extremely impractical and uncomfortable to do in this weather. 

So I will stick to mixing summer and fall into my outfits until the fall decides to grace me with its presence. 

This was the perfect outfit for church yesterday. The mint lace is perfect for summer and the navy striped blazer is a classic fall piece. Mixed together, they are a perfect combo in August.

Neutral Stripes

 

This past weekend I wanted to some summer shopping for hubs and I. I went to Old Navy and they were having an awesome sale. Everything was 20% off, even the clearance! 

 

This dress ended up being only $6. I was a very happy girl.

 

My newly bought wedges went with it perfectly.

Another shot of the necklace I made... a lot of people have been asking when I will start selling these. I am working on re-opening my shop real soon, I promise!

 

It even has pockets!

 

I paired it with mint belt I already had for a pop of color.

 

I just love this outfit, it is the perfect amount of neutrals with small pops of color like the mint belt and the coral bracelet for Spring. It was also a perfect outfit for church (these were taken on Sunday.)
