Dressing the Bump: Graphic Tees

Graphic tees are something that I definitely go back and forth with. Sometimes I really like them and other times I'm not a fan. I've learned that in order for me to wear them, they have to be 1. comfy 2. not too tight 3. I have to actually like the graphic displayed. (Let's face it, some graphic tees are just weird.)

When you find graphic tees that you like, they are great before and during pregnancy. They stretch over the bump and can be very comfortable and let's face it- by the time you're in your third trimester you're all about comfort. Here are two ways to dress your bump with graphic tees without sacrificing comfort or style.

Casual & Layered

In my mind, casual=comfort 99% of the time. To achieve this look, grab your favorite graphic tee, and wear it with a loose button-up, your favorite maternity jeans, and some patterned flats. Naturally, I went for a striped button-up and leopard flats for some simple pattern mixing. If you're in the market for maternity jeans check out Pink Blush Maternity because these things are magical.

Dressed-Up

Some people say that tee shirts can't be dressed up and I think those people are wrong. You can totally wear a graphic tee in a dressy way! To do so, pair it with a pencil skirt and instead of tucking it in, let it drape over the skirt so you can show off your gorgeous bump. Layer your favorite statement necklace and throw on matching booties or heels to finish off the look. Since my outfit mainly consists of neutrals, I picked a hot pink statement necklace to bring some color to the outfit.

Holiday Plaid, Stripes, & a Hint of Leopard

Sheinside tunic c/o (old) similar options below | Old Navy leggings | Old Navy scarf (sold out) almost identical options below | Ariat boots c/o| Steve Madden tote (old) very similar here

Did this title throw you through a loop? Did it make you think, "Those things DO NOT match."? Well guess what, they do match. I love mixing patterns in subtle ways. For example, when I put this outfit together, the main focus of it was the mix of plaid and stripes. I didn't plan to incorporate leopard print. But then I grabbed this purse and I loved the contrast of different patterns!

Are there any patterns that you like mixing that might seem unexpected together?

Oh and this little bump and these photos is officially 16 weeks today! Time is flying, I can hardly believe it. Only 5 more weeks until we find out the gender!

Have a great Thursday!

All about that buffalo plaid...

Oasap Buffalo Plaid Jacket c/o | Old Navy Striped Tee (old) | Loft Skinny Jeans | Pink Blush Gold Necklace c/o | Target Black Suede Booties (old) | Old Navy black fold-over clutch (old)

I am really loving buffalo plaid right now... who isn't!? I love pairing it with different items for different looks. I'm always a sucker for plaid and stripes together, so wearing a striped tee under this buffalo plaid jacket was a no-brainer.

My little baby bump is really growing! I'll be 15 weeks this week and I feel like the time is just flying by already! I was barely able to pull these jeans on, so I'm predicting that I'll be wearing a lot of leggings for the rest of winter. If you have any recommendations for great maternity jeans, please do tell :)

Have a happy Monday!

Fall Colors

This is one of my favorite outfits I've put together this season because it incorporates all my favorite fall colors- burgundy, mustard, navy, and natural earth tones.

These burgundy pants are the pixie pants from Old Navy and I'm obsessed with them. They are the perfect color for fall/winter and they can be worn at the office or casually.
I love the gold and amber tones in this necklace from Pink Blush!
Oh and this the softest cardigan I own- it also comes in black and mocha.

Fall Rice Krispy Treats

Last week I wanted to make a yummy fall treat, but I wanted it to be simple and fast. So I picked up a box of Rice Krispies and went to work.

I love that you can whip up a batch of these is literally 5 minutes. While I was letting them chill in the fridge, I melted some orange white chocolate and pulled out these multi-colored sprinkles.

Then all that was left to do was to dip and stick them!

Overall, these tasty treats only took about 15 minutes to make. I bought the chocolate and sprinkles from walmart, but I know Hobby Lobby also has colored chocolate and festive sprinkles.

Enjoy!

Polka Dots & Plaid

Well here I am again... mixing patterns. The real question is when am I not mixing patterns?
What can I say, I just love how plaid and polka dots look together... they make a perfect combination!

A few things about this outfit...
I'm obsessed with this polka-dot Loft shirt, but unfortunately it isn't sold online anymore... which is a shame because Loft has the best clothes. Seriously- I die a little every time I step foot in that store.
I really love shirts with faux shirt tails.
This plaid scarf is literally a large piece of fabric tied together because I'm too lazy to sew it!
Oh and I'm 11 weeks in these photos. The bump is growing!

shirt: Loft, last season, no longer sold online // jeans: Loft, // boots: Hunter // scarf: similar here and here

PS- Loft is having a huge sale right now! EVERYTHING on their site is 40% off with the code: SHAREIT. See some of my favorite items below!
