Styling a Shift Dress: Day to Night Series Part 2

Happy Thursday! This week totally flew by, but I'm certainly not complaining about it!

Earlier this week, I shared the first part of this series and I showed you how to wear a shift dress for the day time. If you missed it, you can see that post here.

For this night look, I wanted to dress up this simple dress. (I also wore this church on Sunday and it was a perfect church outfit!)
I added a printed leopard scarf because I love contrasting patterns and textures. I think the ankle strap heels and a black clutch were the perfect things to 'top off' the outfit!

I hope you've enjoyed this mini-series! If it something that you like to read about, then I'll be sure to do another one like it again!

What's your favorite way to dress down and up and outfit for night and day?

Also be sure to check out this post to see some of my favorite shift dress finds!

Styling a Shift Dress: Day to Night Series

Lately, I have really been loving shift dresses. They are a perfect staple for summer- or any season, for that matter. Shift dresses are simple pieces that can be dressed for many occasions and they are extremely versatile.

I recently purchased this cute striped cotton shift dress from Target (on sale!) and today I'm going to show you how I wore it for a daytime look.

For this daytime look, I kept it really casual. I love how the dress is very light-weight and loose-fitting, but it doesn't look frumpy. A statement necklace and ankle strap sandals add a little bit of glam, without being too much- in order to stay with the simple theme of the outfit.

Be sure to check back on Thursday to see the full evening look with this dress!

Do you have a shift dress that you love wearing? How do you like to style it?

Thanks for reading!

Floral Blues

I have a confession... I have the floral blues. This is no secret.

Floral pants, skirts, dresses, shirts, nails, everything.

I'll have it all.

This floral dress from eShakti is my absolute favorite right now.
It has a great length, it's pattern and color is beautiful, and it has POCKETS! (See below).

If you haven't been to www.eshakti.com you need to. They are one of my top recommendations for buying dresses. I actually had all my bridesmaids get their dresses there and I have been aching to have my own since! The great thing about eShakti is everything is customizable. For most dresses, you can choose what sleeve and dress length you desire. This is major for me because I love short-sleeve dresses in the summer and I really love having a dress that is just the right length. When you order a dress, you also put in your custom measurements and height, so the dress is made just for you!

This dress actually fits like a glove and it is a well-made dress. I know I'll be able to wear it for years to come.

Be sure to check out eShakti's site here to purchase your own custom dress! Use code: Aftstyles to receive 10% off your order!

Holiday Party Looks

Hello, hello! Happy Tuesday. I don't know about you, but I have had a lot of holiday parties/ events to go to. and it's always nice to have a few fancy outfits that you can look to during this holiday season!

I am so excited because today I am teaming up with Leah from Eat.Pray.Wear.Love.
I met Leah on instagram (this is the place to create bloggerships if you didn't know lol) and I discovered that we actually live really close to one another. In fact, we only live like 30-40 minutes away from each other! Bloggers are few and far between here in Colorado so we were VERY excited about that!

In the spirit of the holidays, we decided to come up with some holiday looks to share with all of you!

I love how Leah's look is a more casual look, but is still fancy and sparkly. I am dying to know where her gold shoes are from!

I'm obsessed with this dress. I am super girly and I love being able to feel like I am playing dress-up as an adult! It's from Ivy & Blu which has become my favorite place to get dresses from. I actually wore it to go see The Nutcracker with my family, but it was extremely cold (-6 degrees to be exact) at the time so there was no way pictures were going to happen! Also, I bought these heels for $11 at Target! Talk about steal of the century... and they are the perfect burgundy color.

What are you wearing for your holiday look(s) this year? Do you like to keep it simple or do you love dressing up for the holidays?
