It's a...

Yesterday we found out that we are having a BOY!!! This was a complete surprise and shock to me; I for sure thought we were having a little girl.

Regardless, I am so excited to know that this baby is a boy and I am even more excited to meet this little guy! It's kind of surreal that he will be here in just about four short months.

He is a very active baby and it will be fun to see how my pregnancy progresses. During the ultrasound, he was a wild little thing and would not stop moving around! The ultrasound technician having a hard time getting him to stay still to take photos. Towards the end, she told us that he kept waving his bicep around and I said that he was definitely taking after his father! He moves around so much and he is constantly digging his foot into my rib. It's painful but totally worth it :)

Being pregnant is the sweetest thing. There are really hard times and I'm sure I will experience more of those throughout the rest of my pregnancy. However, there is really no better feeling than having a precious little life inside of you.

Thanks for following and for all your sweet comments!

#banperfection

Let me tell you a little bit about the state of my home right now.

There are dishes in the sink that need to be washed. I haven't made my bed in over a week. I have about 6 baskets of laundry to fold. I need to buy more hangers so that I can hang up all the clean laundry. I currently have a to-do list a mile long.

I could keep going.

The reason I'm telling you this is because I want you to know that I'm not perfect. My dear blogger friend, Samantha Elizabeth has started a social media/blog campaign that we all need to be a part of called #banperfection. You can read her full introduction post here

The truth is that no one is perfect and if we were there would be absolutely no fun in that. We all have our flaws and I am learning not to be embarrassed of them or to hide them... but to embrace them. They are part of us and they make us who we are.

There are so many topics that this can apply to, but the principles of the matter stay the same.

The other day my church put on a General Women's Conference which they do bi-annually, and one of the speakers said something that really fits in with this topic.

God loves us imperfectly, so let's love ourselves and each other imperfectly too.

Let's stand together and #banperfection. We are all perfectly imperfect and let's embrace that.

Join me on social media to #banperfection!

Feel free to share your thoughts on this in the comments or via e-mail!

Fall Harvest

Fall is hands-down my favorite time of year. I love all the fresh produce that is available this time of year, watching the leaves change, and everything else that comes along with this wonderful season.

My final hall from the family garden this year.

My family is extremely into gardening and they go all out every year. They have the most beautiful garden I've seen. It isn't perfectly trimmed; in fact it looks like a jungle that is being overcome by sunflowers. Which I happen to think makes it even better.

I'm going to miss being able to pick endless bouquets of sunflowers.

If anyone needs me I'll be making apple pie, apple butter, and whatever other apple recipes I can get my hands on for days.

What are your favorite tomato recipes? Lately I've been making homemade salsa, spaghetti sauce, and bruschetta.

Have a great Monday!
