Here in Colorado, it is starting to get more chilly as it gets closer to December. I can't believe it is already November 19th... I feel like Halloween was last week! Time is just flying by. The thing about living in Colorado is the weather is so unpredictable. One day it will be nice fall weather and the next day it will be really cold. Some days, it's really cold in the morning and then when I get out of class in the afternoon, the sun is out and I feel like I am overdressed. Lately, it has been getting more chilly, especially at night. I have really been trying to transition my looks from Fall to Winter so that I am not freezing! At the same time though, I have to make sure that I can 'dress down' if the weather permits.
Today I am teaming up with Samantha from Playdates and Pearls to talk about how we transition our wardrobes from Fall to Winter.
I don't know about you, but when it starts to get cold I just throw the layers on. And although sometimes comfy isn't always cute, you can be stylish and warm at the same time!
I decided to go with lots of layers here. A light blue oxford (because oxfords are my fave), a green thermal shirt, a black puffer vest, and a tartan flannel infinity scarf. To see the rest of my look, check it out on Samantha's blog here.

Hello "Afternoon Stylers"! I'm Samantha, a Mom, Wife, DIY'er, Product Junkie, Interior Decorating Obsessed, Foodie, Traveller, and Author of PLAYDATES + PEARLS. I'm so excited to be hanging out with you today, and talking to you about my fail proof ways to transition from fall to winter. I'm all about the layering, especially living in Austin, TX where "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes" and it will change on you...at least in the winter. Yesterday (while shooting these pictures) it was 88 degrees. Not exactly winter OR fall weather. Just 2 days before it was cold and breezy, so you understand my usual dilemma. I try to plan outfits that I can add to, either with a scarf, jacket, vest, or sweater. I have been especially loving sweaters with elbow patches, and I'm MAD for PLAID, especially with scarves of flannel shirts! With this particular outfit I chose a vest instead of a coat because I didn't want to hide the darling gold glitter elbow patches. This sweater is still available in Banana Republic stores, but I couldn't find it online anymore.
So here's what I came up with for my fall to winter layers:

What are your "Must Have" winter items?
Thank you for having me, and don't forget to come visit Jessica over on Playdates + Pearls!

Isn't she so cute!? I love those red pants and the elbow patches on that sweater. Also, I love how we both decided to wear a plaid scarf and a vest... and our tassel bracelets!
